is often cited as a reference and undeniably represents an original way of
structuring the branch of olive oil, table olives, dried figs and all other
products linked to the terroir in Algeria.
Nestled at the foot of the Soummam valley and marks the center of the wilaya of Bejaia, "Blady" took up residence in 2006 in a former state agricultural cooperative which was the region's first olive cannery nearly 20 years ago. Today, a human-scale packaging unit for dried figs, olive oil and other local products is permanently installed. Very attached to the soul of this region, SNC KHODJA ET CIE, owner of the "Blady" brand, has set up a showroom there for its range of products and objects linked to the mythical tree and to the terroir, collected along of this legendary valley of the Mediterranean.
It has thus become a
space for promoting the olive tree, the fig tree and their culture. From the
biology of the tree to its mythology, from the traditional elaboration of local
products to the use of olive oil in food to the beauty of body and soul; from
pruning the olive tree to harvesting the fruit, from crushing and conditioning
olive oil to storing olives and figs; the organization of the sector, the
promotion and enhancement of this ancestral heritage. Each corner of the route
is an invitation to travel, see and taste the Soummam valley.
